With nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry, Marleen has spent nearly 30 years as an investment professional in the global private equity market. She was Principal Founder and CEO of GreenparkCapital Ltd, which was merged into the StepStone platform in 2013, after which she continued to act as Senior Advisor to Stepstone Global until 2016. Greenpark Capital raised and managed four funds, with total assets under management of USD 2bn.

Marleen has also served on the Board of Invest Europe and she was a member / Chair of the Limited Partner Platform. She continues to serve as Director on the Advisory Board and as Chair of the Audit Committee of listed private equity investor Altamir, Paris, in addition to being Chair of The Pathology Network and Senior Partner at Mbuyu Capital.

Her other interests focus particularly on conservation and impact investing in Africa. She serves as Trustee of The African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) and Chaired the Finance Committee until October 2023. She is a Dutch national, fluent in German, French and English, and resides in Kenya.
